When a 4th Grade student started to choke on a chicken bone her friends programmed Roamer to make a dramatic life-saving dash to the hospital. Teacher and Roamer enthusiast Michael Raby set this and other problems for his students to solve in a wonderfully playful lesson. (more…)
At the end of September, two Peace Pioneers came together to promote Peace. Oldham is the first UK Council to sign the Pledge to Peace. Roamer is the first robot to sign the same pledge. Oldham Council marked the United Nation’s Peace Day (21st September) with a Peace Week. This effort gave Valiant Technology the chance to show various ways Roamer can meet its Pledge and help with a maths lesson at the same time.
On the 2nd July Roamer went to support the Waves of Change Conference, held at The Crystal in London’s Docklands. The conference gathered to promote peace and discuss the issue of water conservation. Roamer engaged around 40 delegates in a Murder Mystery Game, aimed at highlighting the issues of water supply and water pollution. A few days later we visited St Ignatius College, Enfield. Once again Roamer proved adept at prompting adults and students to think about issues our children will face in the future. (more…)
